Last week the Olympics' posted pictures on Instagram of Paralympics Medalist holding their medals to their ears. The 2016 medals for the Games have been equipped with a device inside the medals that use small steel balls to make sound when shaken. This allows athletes that are visually impaired to identify which medal they have received. Bronze medals have 16 balls and have the lowest sound, silver medals have 20 balls and the gold medal 28 balls; being the loudest of the medals. Also, Each medal has the words " Rio Paralympic Games" written in Braille.
